M4A3E2 ASSAULT TANK "JUMBO" RESTORATION PROJECT PAGE 2

This batch of photos of the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation's Jumbo were taken April 5, 2008.

This batch of photos were taken May 24, 2008. I don't know if they'll be adding "duckbills" to the tracks. I hope to find out on my next visit.

Photos from July 2008. No plans to install duckbills at this time.

Photos from December 2008. They removed the spare track links from the turret sides as they were a post war installation. Also, they will be fitting duckbills before the restoration is completed.

Photos from January 24, 2009.

Photos from November 21, 2009.

The Jumbo was moved into the museum in mid-December 2009. The restoration has not been completed yet as it still requires interior work, "duckbills" and other details. These photos were shot on December 8 and 19,2009.

The MVTF's Sherman Jumbo has not been completely restored as of 18SEP11. On 21SEP11, it will be sent offsite to have the restoration work completed. It should return after 12-18 months. The video below was shot on 13SEP11 as it was taken for a test drive by the MVTF volunteer staff.
