M4A3 EARLY PRODUCTION

This M4A3 EARLY PRODUCTION was photographed in April 2009 at the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation in Portola Valley, California. Please note that this is not what is referred to as an "E4" type Sherman. It does not have the gun travel lock on the rear like a typical "E4" conversion and the 76mm gun that is fitted appears to be a M32 type which is the main armament of the M41 tank series. An "E4" Sherman would be fitted with a M1A1/A1C/A2 76mm gun.
